Effort must come forth!

"The damage has been done"
The damage has been done to Mother Earth's very heart and soul. And it is far greater and longer-lasting than any damage that any other being has done.

Where is your heart? To satisfy his own interests, He, the keeper and the guardian of the Earth turned into a vicious and blackhearted man. And today the planet we call our mother, faces the threat of extinction of life because of our ill practices. The resources are fast depleting, once a beautiful mountain to bald soil due to deforestation, pollution to land, water, and air, elimination of wildlife, loss of biodiversity, and dangerous global warming. Because of the unnatural weather changes, the ozone layer got a gap, liquefying of ice tops of Antarctica, and negative changes continue to happen

The Earth is our mother for she infuses life and nourishes us to grow. It is because of her that we live and survive. So now that she is damaged, restoration must come forth and the first thing we need is effort.

To deal with these ecological concerns, restoration must be started from small steps going major steps. Deforestation resulting to landslides and loss of trees that inhabits wildlife. In this restoration a lot of trees must be planted to make up for the lost ones. A single tree planted by each individual of the earth is a big step when done.

The second is proper disposal. Segregating the biodegradable and non-biodegradable, and recyclables is also a great contribution to the restoration. Do not burn, do composting. Composting is also a great move as it does not only lessen trash but it also lessen pollution as the compost can be used as fertilizer instead of using commercials that can harm the ecosystem.

Saving electricity would also help as there is a lesser load on the earth’s natural resources. For this reason, the world celebrates what is known as the Earth Hour on the last Saturday of every March. Where people in the world switch off their unnecessary lights together for an hour and display their support in saving the earth. But this should be done every night if it is not in need.

And since Education is the key to success, education is a good tactic to spread awareness to the public especially the young ones who will take charge in taking care of our ecosystem in the future. This will give knowledge on what we can do to avoid the further destruction of our ecosystem. Today, students are being taught the concept of 3Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. And school activities like tree planting are also done.

And last is having passion. The passion and the drive to restore our ecosystem and saving the mother earth is what binds us. Little steps taken by one person can leave a great impact on the health of our planet. And so with the whole population of 7.9 billion, we Can do it. Do what you can. Do what you must. Do what keeps you alive. Plant one tree and participate in ecological volunteer works. Make efforts to keep our planet as it is again. Restore our ecosystem. Save Mother Earth!
